Short Bio:

Sarah Ickes has a devoted passion to art, a love for reading and writing, and has an old soul when it comes to television and films. Though she has a degree in Fine Arts, her life is not as simple as a piece of paper. She has worked in retail management, web designing, and marketing to name a few of the realms of her experiences. The pets in her life take precedence, as anyone with animals knows. Her interest in historical America comes vividly to life in her Murial Robertson mysteries, following the adventures of a woman in the 1880s. Currently, she has three books in the series, as well as one in her Vectra Tillerman Adventures (action/adventure/greek myth/steampunk), and the first installment in her Cybil Lawson Mysteries (cozy/light-hearted traditional mystery).

She has had her artwork on display at her alma mater, a gallery in York, and she has received three artistic certificates of merit from the Luxembourg Art Prize of 2021, 2022, 2023. The pets in her life take precedence, as anyone with animals knows.

In school, she loved to read fantasy YA books, and still does. Though she has moved into the realm of reading some cozy and traditional mystery books after watching so many growing up. Her interest in history has a profound influence on her work and is evident in both her writings and art pieces, particularly in regards to the Victorian time era and Ancient Greece. And Pennsylvania is where she calls home as there is no place like it.

Murial Robertson Mysteries

Series Information:

Genre: Traditional Mystery/Historical Fiction

Time Period: Late 1800s

My Murial Robertson series is about a woman living in the 1880s America during the tremulous Industrial Revolution where businesses were prospering at a level never thought of before. Murial starts out on the security team for her father, Senator Robertson, until a series of events occurring in the Territory of Arizona sets a new direction for her life. Since then, she owns and operates the old family farm alongside her Foreman, and cousin, Walter with the occasional help of other friends and family as the series progresses. One would think that such a life would be serene, but that is not the case for our main heroine as she is constantly being thrust into solving mysteries, murder, and even a touch of conspiracy plots.
